Fourteen days and counting …

June 7, 2011

I find it hard to believe that there are only 14 days of school left for Saskatoon elementary students.  Of course, there won’t actually be fourteen days of teaching and learning taking place.  The last day will have an assembly and the rest of the day will be spent cleaning and packing up.  At least one full day will be for a fun celebration activity for the entire school.  There will be one or two other assemblies so that takes up at least a half-day.  I assume that there will be an in class, end-of-school celebration for another half-day.  So, nose to the grindstone kids, there are really only about 11 days to finish all of that work.

At least the teachers are in the classroom and we should be able to finish out the school year.  Even if mediation between the union and the employer fails, we should make it to summer.  Yay!
