Why is Joe Jonas in Abu Dhabi?

Seriously.
Joe Jonas had problems in security at the Abu Dhabi airport which would have been much larger problems in an American airport but my question is still about where he was. Why was he even in Abu Dhabi?
Did a sheik pay for him to attend a party?
Was he filming something there?
I don’t understand but then I’m not a famous person.
