Musharaf really did say that.

November 25, 2010

I’m shocked.

Today I read a quote attributed to former Pakistani President Musharaf and my first thought was that it must have been taken out of context.  Surely, the Muslim leader of a Muslim nation would not admit the truth so openly and bluntly.  I was wrong.  He did.

The Muslim Ummah, or the Islamic world, he said was presently living in darkness.

“Today we are the poorest, the most illiterate, the most backward, the most unhealthy, the most un-enlightened, the most deprived, and the weakest of all the human race.” (BBC News)

The statement was part of a speech to delegates at a 2002 science and technology conference for muslim countries.  He also reminded the delegates that “Muslim nations are internally involved in fratricidal conflicts and perceived by the outside world as terrorists with little attention being given on their uplift, he said.”

So, rather than work to improve and advance the situation of the Muslim world, Islamist terrorists are working to destroy the Western world.
