The first amendment is not for sale.

June 18, 2010

A school in Florida is allowing a Baptist church access to students and families in exchange for $5000 worth of school supplies.  The principal prays with the pastor at school.  The church is recruiting members through the school.

No no no no no no no.

This is so wrong.  No religious organizations should be allowed to proselytize in our public schools and certainly not with the express sanction of the school principal.  For pencils?  Are they insane?

Please, somebody tell me that someone at the school or in the government is going to put a stop to this.  Does no one in the school district see that this is clearly unconstitutional?

Maybe the atheists could join in?  I’ll buy school supplies if I can talk to the students about atheism.  Do you think that the principal would allow that?
