I wish that I was actually surprised.

Does the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan speak for all Muslims in Saskatoon?  Have you watched the video of the supposed “peace activists” attacking IDF soldiers?    Do you  know that the soldiers were ambushed and that the “peace activists” were armed?  Doesn’t any sovereign nation have the right to defend and protect its people and its borders?

Here’s the IAS statement:

May 31, 2010

Islamic Association of Saskatchewan (IAS), Statement Re:  Attack on Gaza Aid Convoy

–  For Immediate Release –

The Muslim community of Saskatoon is very disturbed by the news that the Liberty fleet to Gaza was attacked by Israeli forces and left many innocent civilians dead and injured after the raid in international waters.

We believe that the Canadian Government’s stance should be to condemn excessive aggression against civilian aid efforts. Taking a clear position on this crisis is important for maintaining Canada’s leadership in international conflicts.

The Saskatoon Muslim community endorses the statements published by CAIR-CAN Monday May 31, 2010, and the Canadian Islamic Congress (May 31 2010, Year 13, Vol 13, Issue 8).

Muslim Communications and Outreach Committee (MCOC)
Media representatives for the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan (IAS)
The IAS was established in 1970 and represents Muslims of Saskatoon

Really?  How many people wrote this statement?  Do they represent all Muslims?

Is this the humanitarian crisis in Gaza?
