This does not add up.

February 5, 2010

The Saskatchewan provincial government is cutting spending because of a major huge revenue shortfall ($1.8 billion!).

The Saskatchewan temporary Olympic pavilion will cost $4.1 million.   Why is the government spending so much on the Olympics?  Actually, I have the same question for all levels of government.

Do you think that it would be possible to end the Olympics?  To just stop holding Olympics?  Or at least to get governments to stay out of it?  Leave it to the corporations and to private sponsors.  I am just disgusted by the amount of money spent on pavilions and security and venues and entertainment by government.  When did sporting events become the responsibility of our governments?

I want a smaller government.

Oh … but I do still like the clothing inspired by sporting events.
