It’s business.

January 26, 2010

Focus on the Family is going to run an anti-abortion ad featuring Tim Tebow during the Super Bowl.  “Women’s groups” are in a snit.  From USA Today:

The New York-based Women’s Media Center was coordinating the protest with backing from the National Organization for Women, the Feminist Majority and other groups.

“An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year — an event designed to bring Americans together,” said Jehmu Greene, president of the Women’s Media Center.

Oh, shut up.  Seriously.  A company sold commercial time to an organization.  As long as nothing illegal is broadcast, that’s a perfectly legitimate transaction.  If I bought time, I could say whatever I wanted to say on television as well.

The feminists are probably just mad that they don’t have enough money to put up a counter-message.

By the way, in case anyone forgot or didn’t know, I think that every woman should have access to safe and legal abortion services.
