The system worked?

December 27, 2009

Really?  Really really?  I watched Janet Napolitano on CNN this morning and it was just about the most bizarre piece of delusionist rhetoric I have ever heard.  Is this woman for real?  Does she actually believe the crap that comes out of her mouth.  How can you possibly twist your mind into believing that the system worked?

What we are focused on is making sure that the air environment remains safe, that people are confident when they travel. And one thing I’d like to point out is that the system worked. Everybody played an important role here. The passengers and crew of the flight took appropriate action. Within literally an hour to 90 minutes of the incident occurring, all 128 flights in the air had been notified to take some special measures in light of what had occurred on the Northwest Airlines flight. We instituted new measures on the ground and at screening areas, both here in the United States and in Europe, where this flight originated.

So the whole process of making sure that we respond properly, correctly and effectively went very smoothly.

Oh bravo!

It was said that with over 500,000 on the no-fly list, it had become too difficult to keep track of all the people on it. Now, that being said, how do you suppose the government will keep track of the 300,000,000 people when they take control of health care?

The actual no-fly list only has about 4,000 names on it. The major problem with the list is duplicate names and spelling variations. Even if someone is on the list, he could conceivably talk his way on to a plane if he can convince those in power that the list doesn’t really refer to him.
