The Cupcake Conspiracy

November 29, 2009

After the recommendations on our thread about the other cupcake place in town, I finally picked up a half-dozen cupcakes from The Cupcake Conspiracy.

The store smelled fantastic and the cupcakes looked good.  The verdict?  My daughter gave her “Little Green Men” cupcake an enthusiastic two thumbs up and my husband ate two cupcakes.  Everyone said that the cake was almost as good as mine and definitely better than the other store.  They also agreed that the icing was much better.

Cupcakes cost $2.50 each, $14 for a half-dozen and $25 for a dozen.

So … not a store that we’re going to visit weekly because I’d rather make my own cupcakes and downtown parking is a challenge.  However, when I don’t have time or we need a special treat, I would definitely try The Cupcake Conspiracy again.

The wife and I stopped by there the other week, and we both enjoyed our fare immensely. The cake was good, but the icing was fantastic. At $2.50, it’s a little more pricey than a Tim Horton’s donut, but it tastes better and is probably better (or less worse) for you to boot.

    They use real butter.

You can’t go wrong with butter. Or bacon. Hmmm … I wonder how bacon would taste in a cupcake?
