Don’t marry a middle eastern man.

October 28, 2009

And certainly don’t have children with him.  Or go to his country with him.

I said it before and I’m right.

A Canadian women can’t leave Saudi Arabia because her husband won’t let her. Actually, he will let her if someone will pay $300,000.

What does the Canadian government say?  “Natalie Sarafian, press attache to Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon, noted that when Canadians leave Canadian territory, they are subject to foreign laws.”

ORLY?  So Saudi Arabia can stop her from leaving even though she has not committed any crimes?

Let’s review.  Don’t marry or have children with a man from the middle east (or Afghanistan for that matter and probably not Pakistan these days).  Don’t visit those countries.  There are plenty of other places to vacation and plenty of other men who will not be able to legally hold you hostage.

Sounds pretty legitimate. As a visitor you’re subject to their laws, no matter what they are.

Don’t like it, don’t go there. Genius lol!

My point exactly. Don’t marry a middle eastern man so that you are never obligated to visit one of those countries and your children never have to go their.

Please, don’t make generalizations about the middle east. Saudi Arabia has the most strict laws and the closest mentality in the middle east. Other middle eastern’s think twice before getting married to a Saudi. Of course, there are good Saudi men and there are bad middle easterners. I think that the best way to figure out about a guy is to look at his family. The way his sisters live is most probably the lifestyle he expects. Also, I’d warn against moving to Saudi Arabia. None of my friends who lived there say good stuff about it.

I imagine that in America if you owe someone money and there is a legal case you won’t be able to get out. So sounds like they are behaving like first world.
