What did he say?

October 20, 2009

I just watched a segment on CTV National News about Zakaria Amara, the Toronto 18 leader who just pled guilty.

They had audio of Amara speaking about obtaining fertilizer for a huge bomb:

“I’ve been able to get through and meet the order and … will be getting two tonnes.”

Can you guess what he said during those ellipses?

They played the unedited tape but left out one word in the caption.  Why?

Why do these news organizations go out of their way to avoid mentioning the religion of the Toronto 18?  They are Islamic terrorists.  This quote was found in Amara’s notebook:

“These youths whose hearts are burning with a fire, spurting forth enthusiasm and blazing with zeal that their pure blood may irrigate the earth of the Muslims. The one who forbids a young man from jihad is no different from the one who forbids him from prayer and fasting.”

And this one:

“I love for the sake of Allah and I hate for his sake.”

He is a jihadi.

And yet, the article about his guilty plea doesn’t even mention his religion.

I only recently found out that the Beslan school massacre was perpetrated by jihadis – the mainstream media just didn’t talk about it or downplayed it at the time.
