Where did the AP photographers go?

I read a cute story today about a squirrel at a Michigan cemetary. The squirrel was caught stealing American flags from veterans’ graves and using the flags to build its nest. The nest was described as “bedecked with bunting.”
What’s the problem?
No photo of the nest! I found a photo of the squirrel and a photo of a flag caught in a tree but not a single photo of the beautiful nest.
What ever happened to a photo being worth 1000 words?
